Wedding Ring and Aidan’s Big Suprise

Pamela lost her wedding ring yesterday. The weeks of pregnancy swollen fingers abated (for a time) and it slipped off somewhere. After tearing the house apart yesterday and not sleeping a wink from worry last night, she was resigned today to the possibility that it might be lost forever.

This afternoon Aidan said that he would look low and that Pamela could look high. Thinking that he would not find it, but trying to encourage him, she told Aidan that if he found her ring then he would get a big surprise. Lo and behold he discovered it in a basket of bubble blowing toys on the back deck!

We are taking suggestions on what kind of big surprise (thing or activity) to give Aidan.

Well the reward has to be somewhat substantial…I mean he did find a ring of great worth both monitarily and intangably. Hmmm should take him mo Toy-r-us for the toy of his Choice.

you could play the whole tolkein thing on him and say how it was his destiny to find the ring and then freely give it up…

Willa: Good suggestion, but we took the kids for Clumpies last night for a “daddy’s going out of town treat.”

Stelmodad: I like the snak idea…but it’ll be a hard sell for Pam. Too late for the Tolkien thing though…he’s too smart for that trick.

Daniel: You’re right on in terms of the value part…but toy of his choice? If I do that I’m going to have to set a price limit…unless of course we take him to BestBuy and say that he can pick any TV he wants (pointing him toward the big screens). :)

Bob: We did the Incline recently, but Aidan loves the Aquarium and the Zoo.

All very good suggestions…I’m out of town on business next week and will have to (as they say in the corporate world) “noodle on it.”

A new bicycle is always such a great way to show others how much you love them…That’s what I have always said anyway. And look at it this way, Aidan may have saved you from having to spend another $2,000-5,000!!! He deserves a new shiny speed demon.

I rode around the subdivision on Saturday towing Aidan in the bike trailer. It alone weighs 20 lbs. Throw in a 4.5 year old and even this cyclist was huffing and puffing on those hills! We’re definitely going to have to learn how to ride the bike in a small area. At least our house is situated in a slight dip in the road. But we might just end up having to drive down to the Baptist church’s parking lot to do any serious training.

Ian C wins the award contest (but gets nothing but the recognition). :)
