For the record, I think Ethan is a dead ringer for Aidan.

I feel like there is a big chunk of my life that was just a fog. Having five kids 18 months apart each meant that we really didn’t get one sleeping through the night before the next one came along (esp when you factor in the I-can’t-get-comfortable-enough-to-sleep pregnancies). Even now, if each kid has a bad dream once a week, that means I’m pretty much up almost every night. Fortunately, we rarely hear from Ethan or Sam after midnight anymore. Just hope you don’t end up with a sleep walker (have you ever had a kid demand avocado dip at 1 am?!?) Hang in there. It does get better.

someday soonish you’ll feel rested again. I seem to remember feeling overwhelmed in the middle of it all but then when they FINALLY sleep 8 hours straight for a week you’ll look back and say it wasnt all that bad. or at least it was worth it. or perhaps something like “huh?” b/c you’re having a hard time remembering anything. thank goodness for blogs, right?

@Karen: Thank you! Knowing that you guys made it through, and that the struggle is not anything abnormal, is very encouraging. We have family coming into town for Thanksgiving, so they can “hold the baby” anytime they want (morning, afternoon, middle of the night…).
